The Fall Equinox

The Fall Equinox is September 22 and marks the time when we give thanks for the harvest from the seeds we planted in the Spring. What projects have you created at the beginning of the year that you can now give thanks for and celebrate?
The Fall Equinox signifies the transition between Summer into Fall. It is a time of equality, where the days and nights are of equal length moving us towards the nighttime skies of darkness and wonder, feeling the crisp air of fall, and then moving slowly into the winter season of stillness, restoration, and rebirth.

Allow the Fall Equinox to be a time for reflection:

  • What seeds have we planted in the Spring that are now coming into fruition?
  • What has gone right for us so far this year?
  • What still needs more attention?
  • Have you been feeling off-center?
  • Has it been a while since you had a good night's sleep?

 Working with the 5 Elements

We all carry aspects of the 5 Elements or Rhythms within us. Each Element contains an archetype profile, the organs influenced by that Element, and an emotional component. Your Element will influence how you perceive the world, your energies, and your physical vulnerabilities. The theme for the Earth Element is self-care. Too often, people with this Element are overly concerned with the welfare of others and neglect themselves. They need to be needed and feel resentful when they realize they have no time for themselves. If this sounds like you, no worries; step away and find things you love to do; this will help you get back into balance. Being in harmony with all of the Rhythms is the goal, so recognizing that a change is needed is the first step to regaining your sense of self.

How do you know if your Earth Element is out of Balance?

  • Dealing with excessive or obsessive worry
  • Hypersensitivity to criticism
  • Being overly compassionate
  • Loneliness
  • Craving for sweets and carbohydrates
  • Have an addictive relationship with food
  • Feeling ungrounded
  • Fears of being disconnected or homeless
  • Feelings of inadequacy
  • Fuzzy or confused thinking
  • Feeling generally weak

This is an ideal time to nurture and support yourself and others.

How to balance the Earth Element

ST36 is the ultimate acupressure point to balance your Earth energy! It will strengthen and harmonize the meridians within the Element. ST36 will give you more energy, boost your immune system, and aid digestion.

To find this acupressure point: four fingers’ widths below the kneecap and one finger’s width on the shinbone. Move over the bone to the soft spot on the outside of your calf.

Hold this point, using the pad of your middle finger for at least three minutes.

Repeat on the other leg.

So many cool things can be done energetically to keep you balanced and feeling great.

Namaste,

Lizz
